Umelkheyer Sultan

Umelkheyer Sultan is a third-year Medical Laboratory Science major and Leadership minor at the University of Minnesota on the pre-med track. As a Health Pathways Scholar and student leader, she is passionate about healthcare access, equity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Umelkheyer served as a pilot participant in the PHSRC-M Health Observership program and currently leads the student chapter of United Mission for Relief (UMR). Umelkheyer also volunteers at the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic, gaining experience in community-based care. Drawing from her lived experience as a first-generation immigrant, she brings a unique perspective on culturally responsive care and community engagement in medicine.
