Former student Briana's experience in Ecuador
"I participated in the AHS 3004: Health in Ecuador - Humans, Animals, and Ecosystems course in Spring 2023. I was drawn to this course because of its interdisciplinary nature. I believe that a holistic approach is helpful for finding a truly sustainable and impactful solution – especially when it comes to issues in healthcare. This course really connected to my personal goals of immersing myself in a Spanish-speaking culture and traveling independently. It was such a unique learning experience to speak comfortably with native speakers in Ecuador."

Embedded study abroad courses provide flexibility
"The “AHS 3004: Health in the Andes” course was taught on-campus and then went on a week-long trip to Ecuador to apply their knowledge and learn about other cultures."

Spotlight: Laura Fyfe, MA
"This semester, I have had the wonderful opportunity to co-teach our AHS 3004: Health in Ecuador - Humans, Animals, and Ecosystems course, which included traveling over spring break to Ecuador. We were in the country for 8 full days and they were jam-packed visiting sites in the city of Quito and in many neighboring cities and communities."
